Extending a helping hand towards poverty alleviation.
The department continues to engage with communities across the province through CNDC’s with a view of extending a helping hand towards poverty alleviation.
Developing and the establishment of Community Nutritional Development Centres (CNDC) are mainly aimed at addressing issues of hunger and poverty particularly in deep rural communities.
Social Development’ involvement in these initiatives comes in a form of financial support and donations of various working tools/equipment that can be used by centres for daily operations.
As the department, our vision in supporting these initiatives is on ensuring food security and that communities are able to generate reasonable income and ways of sustaining themselves and their families through the supported CNDCs.
In addition to the support the department also extends the help by regularly profiling and identifying the most needy households and providing them with food parcels.
