Honourable MEC Lindiwe Ntshalintshali

Lindiwe Ntshalintshali was born in Lynville and then moved to Phola on the Highveld area of Mpumalanga Province. She completed her Senior Certificate at Mabande Comrehensive School two years after the dawn of Democracy.
She pursued her career in Nursing at one of the recognised public hospitals previously named Middelburg Hospital where her passion to serve the people was aroused. During all this period from High School days till currently she has always been an Activist, and her participation in Politics resulted to her election to serve in government..
Ntshalintshali was elected as a PR Councillor and a Member of the Mayoral Committee for Development and Planning at eMalahleni Local Municipality during the administration term between 2006 to 2011.
She is an accomplished administrator and politician and brings to this portfolio an abundance of experience at a strategic level in the public service.
Her strength and capacity was further reaffirmed when she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Land Use Committee as well as the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Technical Services for the same municipality. She was then elected as an Executive Mayor of eMalahleni in 2015. She served her respective deployments with distinctions and the South African Local Government Association could not ignore her sterling work, and she was elected to serve as a Provincial Executive Member of SALGA between 2013 to 2015. Ntshalintshali also served as President of the UCLGA (United Cities and Local Governments of Africa)
Her contribution to Local Government was recognised nationally and she was appointed to take on higher responsibilities at the National level in 2015. She was elected as the Deputy President of SALGA and a Chairperson of the Sub-committee of Climate Change on the African Continent. Her term was decorated with various accolades and recognition for Excellence.
Ntshalintshali has a Certificate in Nursing Auxiliary (Middelburg Nursing College), Executive programme in Municipal Leadership and Development (University of Pretoria), Executive Programme in Municipal Finance (Wits University) and Executive Programme in Leadership Development (Wits University).
Ntshalintshali’s political activism also demonstrates her resilience and capacity to lead society and advocate their needs. Her activism started from COSAS as a student and later she become a member of the Sub regional structure of ANC Youth League. In 2005, she was elected to serve as a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANCYL in Mpumalanga where she served the interest of young people with courage and diligence and she was later elected as the Deputy Secretary and RWC member of ANC Nkangala Region. She have served in various capacities of ANC structures from Branch Chairperson to REC member until such time that she was elected into the ANC Provincial Executive Committee in 2012 and tasked with the responsibility of Heading the Provincial Elections for the campaign of 2014 National General Elections. In 2015, at the 12th Provincial Conference, Ntshalintshali was elected as the Provincial Deputy Secretary and was tasked with coordinating the provincial elections in the province until to date.
